A Big Thank You

I just wanted to take a moment to thank kitty for recommending Experiments with Intermittent Fasting.  It’s given me some great perspective on using fasts as a healthy tool towards weight loss and maintenance.  Also, the book is incredibly relevant to the post I wrote earlier this morning.  I’m officially guilt-free about the fact that I’m not eating today in an effort to lose weight.  Woo!

If you have a few hours, I highly recommend reading the book.  It may give you a boost in the right direction.  For some reason I couldn't view most of the pictures on my web browser, but all issues were resolved when I downloaded the PDF version.

I’m going to start the “Daily Fasting” program with a 19/5 ratio.  My first meal will be at 3pm (immediately following my aftenoon workout) and my last meal will happen at 8pm (right after my evening workout).  I’ll reevaluate in a couple weeks.

Not going to lie.  I’m pretty excited right now.

Also, thank you to everyone who has followed me and/or left comments.  I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me that someone out there has taken an interest in my weird little life.

Since I'm singling people out, I want to send a special thank you to Claire for all the support.  And thanks for all the yummy recipes!  If you're looking for delicious, low-cal vegan food, her blog is the place to go!  So go!  Now!

    1. Yup, yup! I've been pushing for 100oz a day. It's been interesting training my body to reach for my water bottle instead of food when I get hunger pains.

Thank you for the comment and support, Kitty. You're amazing :)

  2. Thank you sweety! That was totally not necessary but very much appreciated. I can relate so much to what you're going through and if I can help in any way I will.
I've tried IF before, it works well if I'm in the right head space but if I'm unbalanced I can tip over into starving or binging because I 'deserve' food afterwards.... silly but just something to watch out for :) Now I just use IF as it comes, if I'm not hungry I will skip a meal and call it IF, if I miss breakfast I won't double up on lunch and just take it as it comes etc.
Good Luck, I hope it works for you!

    1. I will definitely keep that in mind with IF. I could see how it would backfire eventually. Right now I feel pretty stable, which is nice.

And it was absolutely necessary! You've done a lot to make me feel like I'm not so alone in this stupid, crazy world. Plus, your recipes ARE amazing. I've been trying at least one a week. The pumpkin miso soup is still my favorite. Last night I tried it with red miso and it was AMAZING.
